Morning!!
I don’t know what I searched on IG but now my feed is riddled with reels about the power of having a personal brand. The algorithm sure knows how to tickle my curiosity.
So off to Google-land I go.
Search Bar → (enter: “Power of the personal brand”)
Boom! A slew of articles pop up, from Forbes to LinkedIn articles.
These articles tout the benefits of this practice. Why was it that the entire time I was looking thru these Google results all I thought of was Kylie Jenner of the Kardashian fame? Remember way back in 2018? Yes, she made the cover of Forbes.
Not all personal branding are for media celebrities are they? Surely there were others examples out there?!

Ok, I watched this TED talk vid and I Googled my name *hahahaha* Did you do the same? 🤣 Seriously tho, I watched this talk by Marcos Salazar on TED a few times. Guess I’ll be trying to answer the questions he poses in this vid.
More importantly, what are your thoughts on this? As you are now. Doing what you are doing. What would a little digital garden to grow your identity look like?
I still think creating a personal brand is so cring. But it’s like having an email account or a cell phone number- it has become a way for people to get in contact with you. Can’t leave the house without the mobile right? 😳
So, welcome to 2023. This is the year you pick up a digital gardening tool and start cultivating a little brand identy garden.
But where to start? Well, here are a few ways.
a.) visual creatives → hit up Instagram + YouTube (post your food pics, your art sketches, a short vid of your DIY projects…)
b.) writers → head over to LinkedIn, Twitter + Medium (pick a topic and riff, then hit post…)
c.) talk about your respective areas of expertise/ hobbies → start chatting in a blog (Wix, Wordpress, Blogger have free starter accounts…)
I’ve taken a step. Not sure if it’s a step in the right direction *stumbles forward, walks off in random direction*😂 I’ll adjust course as I go. What’s the step you took you ask? I picked (c.) come on by, poke around the site, and tell me off if you like 😂
